Gia Lai House

Gia Lai House's residents were looking to renovate their living space. As a family of four, now that both children are moving out for university, clients wished to use the second bedroom as a study or a bedroom when their children are visiting home.

Gia Lai House was a typical Vietnamese tube house; meaning it was not possible to have windows at both side of the house. Air ventilation and access to daylight throughout the house were the two main requirements. Upon understanding the current condition of small living area and limited renovation budget, Gia Lai House was designed with local materials selection, glass panels to be installed at walls to open up the living space. A small courtyard next to kitchen to allow air ventilation and daylight access to the back of the house.
